University of Toronto Department of Classics
The Department offers a full range of courses and programs in Ancient Greek (GRK); but there is also a wide variety of courses in Classical Civilization (CLA) which may be studied without knowledge of the original languages. At the University of Toronto, there is a particularly rich variety of courses in the literature of the Greeks in translation, and in the historical and social analysis of the Greek and Roman world. Contemporary Greek culture maintains close ties to the ancient world, and the Department also offers courses and a program in Modern Greek (MGR).
