What's HOT! Greek National Independence Day March 25th, 2008, marks the 187th anniversary of the declaration of Greece’s seven-year struggle for Independence from the Ottoman Empire. It celebrates the birth of the modern state of Greece in 1821, after 400 years of Ottoman rule. To commemorate the event, the Greek Community of Toronto, continuing its long standing tradition, is organizing two days of celebrations on March 29 & 30, 2008.
